Hi Nigel,
I'll be straight — this is a cold approach. We build bespoke job management platforms for M&E and building services contractors.
I came across Wheatley while looking at M&E contractors in Yorkshire and wanted to get in touch. I put this page together first so you can see what we actually looked at, rather than just taking my word for it.
Family-owned since 1997, full-spectrum M&E — design, installation, testing and inspection across commercial, industrial, retail, and public sector. The project list is genuinely impressive: a 12-storey BTR in Sheffield, Bierley Crematorium, an 80-bed care home in Cleckheaton, a 402-bed student block in Leeds. Clients including Rolls Royce, HSBC, Carlsberg and the MOD.
The in-house Revit and 3D design capability is notable — most M&E contractors at this size buy that in.
With five or more concurrent projects running at any point — different sites, different engineers, different subcontractors — there's a lot to track. From the website we couldn't see how job scheduling, engineer dispatch, compliance sign-off and subcontractor coordination happens day-to-day.
In similar M&E businesses this tends to run across a mix of spreadsheets, email chains and phone calls. It works up to a point, but it gets harder as the project list grows and the schemes get bigger. It may well be that you have this handled — but it felt worth raising.
There's no client portal, no booking form, and no project update system visible on the site. For blue-chip clients like Rolls Royce, MOD and HSBC, the expectation around project visibility and communication is often high. It's possible you manage all of that directly — but if that relies on phone and email, it adds admin load as the scheme count grows.
25+ years, family-owned, blue-chip client base, in-house design capability. That's a business that's earned its reputation through consistent delivery. Any platform we'd build would be designed to support how you already work — not add friction to it.
We're Identify Digital — a web development agency based in Wakefield. We build bespoke operations platforms for contractors who dispatch teams to jobs. We've built for groundworks, construction and field service businesses across Yorkshire. The platforms we build are designed around how the business actually works.
If any of this resonates, the easiest next step is a quick call — no obligation, just a conversation about whether there's a fit.
