Su-Bridge Pet Supplies Ltd

Hi Ian,

Straight up — this is outreach. I came across Su-Bridge while looking at wholesale pet trade distributors and the scale and complexity of what you're running made me want to get in touch.

I put this page together so you can see what we actually looked at, rather than just asking you to take my word for it.

What we found — The business

50 years in the trade, 80 staff, four warehouses — a serious wholesale operation

In business since 1974, Su-Bridge has grown into one of the more substantial pet trade distributors in the UK. Four warehouses across Norfolk, 80 staff, and exclusive UK distribution agreements for brands including Ziwi, Farm Foods, Nobbys and True Hemp. That's not just a distributor — it's a proper supply chain operation with genuine complexity underneath it.

What caught our attention — The trade portal

You have a trade portal — but how well is it connected to your back-office systems?

You've already got a login-based trade portal for pet trade customers, which puts you ahead of most distributors. The question we'd want to understand is how tightly it's integrated with your stock management and order processing. At four warehouses with multiple exclusive brands, stock levels change fast. If the portal is showing what was true a few hours ago rather than right now, that creates friction — wrong orders placed, pick errors, customer calls to check availability.

Complex pricing is the other angle. With multiple brands, different trade tiers, and exclusive agreements, pricing logic tends to be intricate. How much of that is automated in the portal versus handled manually or through separate conversations?

Positive signal

The portal already exists — the question is whether it's doing as much as it could

Having a trade portal at all is the hard part. A lot of distributors still route everything through phone and email. You've moved past that. The work we'd be looking at is whether the integration behind it is tight enough — live stock, live pricing, order history, account management — to reduce the manual overhead rather than just shift it somewhere else.

Something to consider — Multi-brand complexity

Four exclusive brands means four different sets of rules to manage

Exclusive distribution agreements typically come with their own pricing structures, minimum orders and margin requirements. If that complexity is being managed across spreadsheets or manually enforced in orders, there's both an admin cost and a risk of errors slipping through. A properly integrated ecommerce platform handles those rules automatically, at the point of order.

What we'd look at for an operation like yours

  • Live stock integration — real-time sync between your stock management system and the trade portal
  • Complex pricing tiers — account-specific pricing, volume discounts, brand-specific rules, automated at order point
  • Order flow and tracking — from trade customer through to warehouse pick and despatch, with visibility for both sides
  • Multi-warehouse logic — stock allocation and availability across all four locations
  • Account management portal — order history, invoices, delivery tracking, account-specific catalogues
  • ERP/stock system integration — connecting whatever you're running back-office (Sage, Orderwise or similar) properly
About us

Why we're relevant here

We're Identify Digital — a web development agency based in Wakefield. We build ecommerce platforms for suppliers and distributors that need proper ERP and stock system integration. We've built trade portals for wholesale businesses running Sage, Orderwise and Epicor Bistrack. Most agencies avoid integrations. We specialise in them.

If any of this resonates, the most useful starting point is an Ecommerce Platform Audit — we come to you, understand how the portal and back-office systems connect today, and produce a clear picture of what's possible. £1,500+VAT, credited in full if you go ahead with a build.
